(Brookings, SD) — Brookings residents are sharing what they want to see happen with the Dacotah Bank Center. A recent survey of 14-hundred residents shows 35 percent want a combined events and recreation facility while 30 percent want the building to just focus on events and 24 percent want a recreation facility. Ten percent of responders say they need more information. The center’s current contract expires at the end of the year and Brookings Parks and Rec Director Kristin Zimmerman says the city typically holds this type of survey during this time. She said during an open house on Thursday it will still be awhile before anything is officially decided.
