(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota’s Advanced Nuclear Energy Committee is considering possible nuclear reactor sites in the state. Nucleon Energy presented two reports outlining how much a new reactor could help the economy and how nuclear waste is disposed during a meeting on Tuesday. The company says a large reactor could create 260 full time jobs and bring in five-million per year in taxes, while a smaller reactor could create 100 jobs and generate one-point-seven million per year in taxes. The proposed reactors range in size from 200 megawatts to 600 megawatts. The company says building a reactor would cost more than one-billion dollars.
