(Box Elder, SD) — The Douglas School District is expanding with a new elementary school. The announcement comes as city leaders prepare for expansion at the Ellsworth Air Force Base. Officials also noted the city has experienced 24-percent population growth since 2020 and hope the new school will prevent overcrowding. The Douglas School District is expecting about 100 new students a year over the next 15 years.
