(Bismarck, ND) — Trade between North Dakota and India is becoming a major factor in the local economy. The North Dakota Trade Office says the relationship between North Dakota and India is growing fairly rapidly. In 2023, North Dakota exported roughly 12-million in goods to India. Trade Office Executive Director Drew Combs says the vegetarian Hindu diet aligns precisely with some of the crops that North Dakota is number one at producing. The relationship is becoming so strong that India is giving the state a statue of Mahatma Gandhi, which will be displayed in the Bismarck Peace Park.
