Agtegra Starts Construction On Feed Mill In Faulkton

(Faulkton, SD) — Aberdeen-based coop Agtegra is building a new feed mill in Faulkton. The 16-million-dollar facility will help feed a growing pig and poultry industry in South Dakota and will be able to stock 100-thousand tons of feed per year. Agtegra says they are seeing a renewed interest in livestock in the state, and with more livestock comes the need for more feed. It comes on the heels of Smithfield Foods announcing plans for a new state-of-the-art hog processing plant and Agtegra board members believe it’s the first of several major processing projects coming to the area. The feed mill will be able to process about two-point-two million bushels of local corn a year.
