Minuteman III Missile Exhibit Coming To Heritage Center

(Bismarck, ND) — A decommissioned Minuteman 3 missile will be on display at the North Dakota Heritage Center. Senator Kevin Cramer made the announcement at the Heritage Center and State Museum in Bismarck on Tuesday. It will be part of the museum’s Military Gallery, which is set to open in late 2027. The Minuteman 3 was first deployed in the 1960s and is still operational with 400 such missiles distributed at bases across the country. The missiles can carry nuclear payloads from land-based launch points and they’re recognized as one of the three key nuclear delivery methods of the U.S. military, along with air and sea capabilities.
