Attorney General Drew Wrigley Joins Effort To Combat Xylazine

(Bismarck, ND) — Attorney General Drew Wrigley is joining an effort to combat the drug xylazine. The drug is used as a veterinary sedative and has been combined with fentanyl to make it more deadly. It’s known on the street as “tranq.” Wrigley is joining 42 other state attorneys in a letter to congressional leaders to pass the Combating Illicit Xylazine Act, which would classify it as a schedule three controlled substance. The attorneys general say federal scheduling is needed to track the manufacturing of the drug and provide reporting on its use.
