(Lake Preston, SD) — Members of the Kingsbury Cattlemen’s Association are sending hay to help farmers in Nebraska. Many farmers and ranchers had their stockpiles and grazing fields burned after the biggest fire in state history spanned 643-thousand acres last month. Organizers had hoped for three trucks to volunteer for the convoy and after posting the idea on social media for 48 hours, 12 trucks had stepped up. School kids lined the streets in Lake Preston to send off the convoy. Lake Preston Schools superintendent Dana Felderman says it’s important to teach kids about helping others.
