(Minnehaha County, SD) — The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office will start testing outdoor warning sirens. The first test will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Monday and continue on the first Monday of each month for every city except Sioux Falls. The tests in Sioux Falls will take place on the first Friday of every month at 11:00 a.m. According to the National Weather Service, the sirens are designed to alert citizens of life-threatening weather so they know to go inside and tune to local media to get more information.
