Candidate For Governor Fails To Acquire Enough Valid Signatures

(Pierre, SD) — Democratic candidate for governor, Robert Arnold, will not be on the Primary election ballot. Secretary of State Monae Johnson announced that Arnold did not acquire enough valid signatures to qualify. Arnold submitted enough signatures to qualify but more than 250 were deemed invalid, making him ineligible. So far, Dan Ahlers is the only Democrat to have submitted enough signatures in the race for governor. He will face the winner of the Republican Primary, which features four candidates.
