(Fargo, ND) — The ringleader of a major drug trafficking scheme is facing decades in prison. Jessica Trottier was sentenced on Thursday to 40 years in prison after the drug ring she ran was brought down in the fall of 2022. Federal wire-taps helped uncover the Fargo woman’s “broad, deep and vast” drug conspiracy that culminated in a raid at a farmhouse south of Bismarck. Defense attorneys said Trottier was an addict who got in over her head with the cartels but prosecutors noted that the wiretaps showed Trottier was trying to get one of her co-conspirators killed. Prosecutors say 20 people were indicted as part of the investigation and all have pleaded guilty or signed agreements to plead guilty.
