(Sioux Falls, SD) — Four school districts are receiving grants from the South Dakota Department of Education. The largest grant is going to Rapid City Area Schools to expand its culinary arts lab for more than 223-thousand dollars. The Frederick Area School District, Spearfish School District and Hill City School District are also receiving grants that range from 18-thousand to 55-thousand dollars. They are part of the Workforce Education Grant program, which aims to build career and technical education programs in middle and high schools. State Secretary of Education Joe Graves says all four programs, “create authentic experiences for our students.”
