Small Business Owners Share Concern Over Rising Healthcare Costs

(Bismarck, ND) — Small business owners are sharing concerns over rising healthcare costs and credit card transaction fees. The topics were broached during a roundtable discussion with Rep. Julie Fedorchak and Sen. John Hoeven on Monday. One small business owner says her company has six employees and healthcare coverage takes more than 80-thousand dollars off of her bottom line. Fedorchak says it’s time to put people receiving healthcare in the driver’s seat when making healthcare decisions instead of insurance companies. Another small business owner said that credit card transaction fees are forcing her coffee shop to consider raising prices.
