Flow Test Planned For Garrison Dam Later This June

(Riverdale, ND) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is planning to conduct a flow test of the Garrison Dam spillway. The test is expected to happen around June 24th. The flow test will involve opening 23 of the dam’s 28 spillway gates for about two hours to ensure the operability of the dam and evaluate the performance of the spillway subdrain system. It is not related to flood control operations. The exact timing will depend on the weather and operational conditions.
