The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down in Huron during the storms on July 2.
The tornado produced peak winds of about 90 miles per hour and remained on the ground for approximately five minutes.
Weather officials say the tornado traveled about two-and-a-half miles, with an intermittent circulation observed south of U.S. Highway 14 from just west of Dakota Avenue North to near Custer Avenue Northeast.
The tornado was estimated to be about 75 yards wide.
No injuries or deaths were reported in the storm.
