(Rapid City, SD) — The FBI is offering a 25-thousand dollar reward for information on the murder of Alton Mesteth. Mesteth was killed in January of 2024 on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Investigators believe he might not have been the intended target when unknown assailants fired into his home, striking and killing him. Officials say Mesteth was a family man who worked at a nearby hospital. The reward will be issued out to anyone providing information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.
