(Bismarck, ND) — Governor Doug Burgum has issued an executive order declaring a disaster in central North Dakota following multiple rounds of severe storms. Throughout the past two months, the storms have dropped up to nine inches of rain in some areas, causing significant damage from flooding. Damaging straight-line winds and large hail also caused severe damage. The declaration gives NDDOT access to the Federal Highway Administration’s emergency relief funds.
