(Sioux Falls, SD) — Sioux Falls City Council is expected to review an ordinance today that would give police more authority to enforce alcohol bans on Siouxland Libraries property. Library officials say they’ve seen a rise in alcohol-related incidents this year at Siouxland branches. Siouxland Libraries Director Jodi Fick says that under the current ordinance, police “can enforce a failure to vacate,” but does not specify enforcement of prohibiting alcohol. The new ordinance reportedly will give police that authority.
