(Bismarck, ND) — For the second year in a row, an educator at Bismarck’s Wachter Middle School lays claim to the crown of North Dakota Teacher of the Year. State officials announced yesterday that this year’s award goes to math teacher Kendall Bergrud. Wachter education teacher Shelia Peterson took home the same award last year. While accepting the award, Bergrud, who also teaches AVID and coaches both volleyball and basketball, said he had always wanted to be a teacher since he was in kindergarten.
