Register Now For National Night Out

Sioux Falls, SD — National Night Out will be held on August 5th, 2025. The City of Sioux Falls encourages all Neighborhood Groups to participate in National Night Out. Most groups gather either at a park, building, backyard, or driveway in a potluck style setting from 5:00-8:00 p.m. This is a time to gather as a community, celebrate what makes your neighborhood unique, and get to know your neighbors. This type of event helps to strengthen our community.

The emphasis of National Night Out is community safety. Events like this show criminals that neighborhoods have banded together to strengthen the partnership between residents and law enforcement. Sioux Falls Police Officers interact with residents on a one-on-one basis to create and cultivate personal connections. Along with law enforcement, staff from other city departments such as Sioux Falls Fire Rescue, City Council and Planning are invited to attend.

New changes to this event in Sioux Falls will make things easier for neighbors to get together and celebrate. The Parks Department is waving fees to reserve parks for the event. The parks are on a first come first serve basis and based on availability. Street closures are free of charge; however, street barricades are at the expense of the group hosting the event from a private vender.

If your neighborhood plans to host an event, please email Officer Kyle Johnson at kyle.johnson@siouxfalls.gov or call at 605-978-6866 no later than July 24.
