(Riverdale, ND) — A project from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to repair and improve Garrison Dam’s spillway is set to cost nearly two-billion-dollars. A total estimated cost of one-point-eight-billion dollars marks the largest dam safety modification project in the federal agency’s history. A spokesperson for the Corps’ Omaha District says work is expected to begin in 2030. U.S. Senator John Hoeven says he’s pushing for funding through the Senate Energy and Water Committee.
