(Dickinson, ND) — The Dickinson city assessor is submitting his resignation. Joe Hirschfeld announced his voluntary departure after several resident comments scrutinized his recent property valuation decisions. Property owners disagreed with Hirschfeld’s sharp increases in residential and commercial property valuations this year. He was also accused of working a deal with the Killdeer City Commission to complete a revaluation of the city’s taxable properties through his private appraisal business. Hirschfeld will remain in his position through August 12th.
