(Bismarck, ND) — Bismarck Public Schools will have less Title One funding. District Superintendent Jeff Fastnacht says the state received an eight percent decrease in Title One funding, with BPS experiencing a reduction of 700 thousand dollars. Title One funding helps boost the performance of disadvantaged students and supports low-income elementary schools. Nine Bismarck elementary schools relied heavily on the funds. Officials are already discussing ways to compromise for the upcoming budget shortfalls.
