Blackout License Plate Sales Soar On Day One In ND

(Bismarck, ND) — Blackout license plates are already bringing a positive impact to North Dakota. The State Department of Transportation reports that over one-thousand blackout license plates were sold after they became available last Friday. At least 27-thousand-dollars in extra revenue was tallied, which will go toward the state’s highway tax distribution fund to help pay for road construction. Officials project a total extra revenue figure of nearly seven-million-dollars in the next four years, thanks to the new license plates.
