(Sioux Falls, SD) — A jury has found Justin Rackley guilty on all counts in the Sioux Falls triple murder case.
Jurors delivered the verdict Tuesday afternoon at the Lincoln County Courthouse, convicting Rackley of three counts of first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault. The charges stem from a deadly shooting at a summer get-together last year that left Daniel Kemnitz, Kellie Reaves, and Michael Thompson dead and two others injured.
During closing arguments, prosecutors pointed to bullet shell evidence linked to Rackley’s gun, arguing premeditation wasn’t about time, it was about intent. The defense claimed there was no motive and pushed for reasonable doubt, but the jury didn’t buy it.
