AG Jackley Joins Push to Protect Kids from Social Media Dangers

(Undated) — South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley joins Minnesota and dozens of other state AGs in cracking down on social media apps they say put kids’ safety at risk. Just yesterday, Minnesota’s AG Keith Ellison sued TikTok, calling it “digital nicotine” for creating addictive content and ignoring its harmful effects. Jackley, Ellison and 35 others also sent a letter to Instagram demanding stricter controls on a new location-sharing feature, warning it could put minors in danger without proper controls. Jackley stresses they want safer social media, not bans, to protect kids while keeping platforms as places to connect.
