(Eagle Butte, SD) — A man is facing serious charges after threats shut down the Cheyenne River Sioux tribal headquarters last month. The Tribal Court has indicted Joseph Lafferty for allegedly making terroristic threats against five tribal leaders, including the chairman. Authorities say the threats forced a lockdown of tribal offices. Lafferty now faces both tribal and federal charges.
