(Bismarck, ND) — Officials are reevaluating how state funding is allocated for higher education in North Dakota. The Higher Education Funding Review Committee says it plans to review all aspects of higher education funding, as the current formula was introduced over 12 years ago. Officials argue that North Dakota’s financial landscape has undergone significant change since that time, as workforce shortages and school expansions have become key issues for a new model. The review committee says a legislative proposal is likely sometime during the 2027 session.
