(Rapid City, SD) — Rapid City Police is stepping up patrols at Oxford Square Apartments in northeast Rapid City, where two murders have happened in the past couple of weeks. Officers are checking the property about once an hour and enforcing a zero-tolerance policy that’s already led to several arrests for drugs, assaults, trespassing, and warrants this week. Residents say they fear for their safety, while the management company promises to increase security and remove disruptive tenants. Police say two people are in custody in connection with the latest murder and continue patrols. They’re also working with building management on long-term security solutions.
