(McKenzie County, ND) — Investigators are releasing new details about a massive fire that broke out in McKenzie County last week. Authorities say the blaze started at a garage and shop near 145th Avenue and 42nd Street NW on September 26th. It quickly spread to a farmstead in the area, which forced all homes and businesses to be evacuated as first responders worked to contain the fire. Badlands Search and Rescue has now estimated that 115 acres of open and harvested crop land were burned, but no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office.
