Governor Larry Rhoden Proposes Loans To Airports To Fund Projects

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Governor Larry Rhoden is suggesting giving loans to the state’s airports to address an increase in passengers. Rhoden said on Friday that he’s proposing 15-million dollar loans to both the Sioux Falls and Rapid City Regional Airports, paid back over a 20-year time frame with zero interest. He says that by not helping the airports upgrade their facilities, it could stunt the growth each airport has seen in the past six years. The South Dakota Legislature will have to approve the proposal before anything can be done.
