(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota leaders say the state is in good position to improve rural healthcare access. Governor Kelly Armstrong and U.S. Senator John Hoeven say the state is guaranteed at least 100-million dollars annually for the next five years to improve healthcare thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The state has already accepted 199-million for 2026 but it has to be spent by the end of the year. The state government has until October to delegate where exactly the money will go. Health and Human Services Commissioner Pat Traynor says the state will try to allocate the money to people who typically don’t even try to get access to these opportunities because they are so far down the totem pole.
