(Bismarck, ND) — Bismarck Public Schools are facing criticism for a plan to change school bell times. Superintendent Jeff Fastnacht presented the recommendation to the school board on Monday. Start and end times for elementary schools would be ten minutes later than the 2025-26 school year and middle schoolers would be released 20 minutes earlier. The board did not vote on the proposal during Monday night’s meeting. They say the start times would help parents with childcare and after-school activities.
