(Pierre, SD) — Federal agents say fentanyl powder seizures went up and counterfeit pill seizures went down last year. The DEA reports that powder seizures were up 43 percent and pill seizures decreased 41 percent in South Dakota, reflecting a trend nationwide. DEA Omaha field agents say it shows fentanyl knowns no bounds. Agents also reported a spike in meth and cocaine seizures in the state. The agency says they seized more than 146-thousand fatal doses of fentanyl, 300 pounds of meth and 40 pounds of cocaine in 2025.
