(Bismarck, ND) — State Tax Commissioner Brian Kroshus says the 2026 income tax season will begin on Monday. Its the same date the IRS will start accepting and processing tax returns. The deadline to file is Wednesday, April 15th. The commissioner is also warning taxpayers to be cognizant of new U.S. Postal Service postmark date processes. The postmark date is now the day it was processed instead of the day it was dropped off in the mailbox.
