(Bismarck, ND) — The Department of Commerce is offering grants for school districts hoping to upgrade energy systems. The State Energy Program is helping pay for energy audits, efficiency upgrades, education and outreach. The Energy Efficiency Community Block Grant and Energy Conservation Grant are also supporting energy upgrades. The department’s energy efficiency program manager says the goal is to reduce the toll on the state energy grid. He says businesses can apply for a separate low-interest loan program for the same purposes.
