(Milbank, SD) — A child in Milbank is infected with measles, according to the South Dakota Department of Health. It brings the total number of infections in the state up to five this year. State Epidemiologist Dr. Josh Clayton says the child was among a family of four, flying back from Canada. In 2025, the state reported 16 cases of measles. Clayton says all the cases in 2025 are from people who are not vaccinated.
