Aberdeen Man Facing Charges After Weekend Crime Spree

(Aberdeen, SD) — A man is facing charges for a crime spree that ended in a car crash. Police say the incident began with Marquis Gabriel Martin harassing guests with a knife at a hotel on 6th Avenue on Saturday morning. About two hours later, a man matching Martin’s description was discovered trying to steal an item from a grocery store. When he was located by police, he fled on foot and got into an unoccupied vehicle before crashing it into a parked car. Martin is being charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, obstruction, grand theft and a parole violation.
