Agronomist Concerned Less Farmers Are Ordering Seed

(Minot, ND) — Pioneer Seeds says they aren’t seeing as much planning for the upcoming 2026 growing season. A spokesperson for the seeding company says many farmers haven’t booked any seed, while others have just 50-percent booked. She says most of the producers in the eastern part of the state know their rotations and have planned ahead, but farmers in the west are still facing uncertainty. With a wider variety of crop options for western farmers, many are waiting to see what markets will produce the highest profits. A western farmer said she is not concerned because many seed companies are offering low-rate financing options.
