(Kyle, SD) — Two people are dead after a vehicle overturned into a freezing creek early Saturday. Officers with the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety responded to a crash at 3 Mile Creek and BIA 2, approximately five miles out of Kyle in the southwest part of the state. Officers and local residents entered the water to help. One person was rescued, but the group were unable to rescue two others and were later pronounced dead. The incident is being investigated.
