(Bismarck, ND) — State Representative Jared Hagert is resigning from the legislature to work in the federal government. Hagert is expected to take a job with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was elected to the State House in 2020 and served as vice chair of the Legislature’s Finance and Taxation Committee since 2023. A farmer from Emerado, he represented North Dakota on the Farm Service Agency State Committee in 2018. His seat will be appointed by the North Dakota GOP within the next 21 days.
