(Minot, ND) — Voters could determine if the Ward County and Minot public libraries end up merging. Discussion of a potential merger began in the mid-1990s but the negotiations have always hit a hiccup. The topic came up again in a joint meeting between the Minot City Council and Ward County Commission in January. Studies about a merger have showed that the libraries could consolidate duplicate volumes and save money on staffing. The latest study has showed Minot library site would be the best location to merge the two libraries.
