Gov. Rhoden Signs 153 Bills In 2026 Legislative Session

(Pierre, SD) — More than 150 bills are becoming law as the 2026 legislative session comes to a close. Gov. Larry Rhoden’s office announced he signed 153 bills into law and vetoed one in the session this year. A compromise bill on the one that was vetoed was passed and signed on Wednesday. Lawmakers are scheduled to take a two-and-a-half week recess before reconvening for Veto Day on March 31st. The conclusion of Veto Day will mark the official end of the 2026 State Legislature.
