Great Plains Food Bank Sees Largest Increase In Demand

(Fargo, ND) — Fargo-based Great Plains Food Bank says demand has reached its highest levels. CEO Ann Prifrel says they served more than 167-thousand individuals last year. It was the most in the food bank’s 43-year history. Prifrel says one in every five people in the state needed food assistance at some point last year and 39 percent of them were under 18. The food bank says they distributed more than 14-point-eight million pounds of food in 2025.
