Ellendale Mayor Says Data Centers Saved The Town

(Ellendale, ND) — One North Dakota mayor is choosing sides in the debate over data centers. Ellendale Mayor Don Flaherty says building two data centers saved his town. Flaherty says Ellendale has already received more than one-million dollars in sales tax revenue in the first two months of the year and correlates the spike directly to the new data centers. While Flaherty says the economic upside is there, he understands the concerns raised by the community. He says there have been growing pains with an increase of traffic from builders and issues in housing but overall he sees the centers as a positive.
