(Bismarck, ND) — A Mandan man is facing a prison sentence of one-and-a-half years for fleeing police. Martise Hill pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and theft from the pursuit that happened on January 8th. Sheriff’s deputies from McLean County tried to stop Hill for speeding on Highway 83. They later realized that the 2022 Chevy Suburban he was driving had been stolen in Minot and Hill was driving under a suspended license. The chase reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour until authorities deployed spike strips. Hill abandoned the stolen vehicle while it was still in gear near Century Avenue and State Street and was apprehended behind a nearby grocery store.
