(Dunn County, ND) — Officials in Dunn County are pressing the brakes on new data centers. Commissioners approved a 12-month moratorium on facilities during a recent meeting, joining other counties that have issued similar moratoriums this month. The decision gives county staff more time to work out how permits would be determined. In Fargo, Applied Digital is investing more than 75-million dollars to help cover an electrical substation and power line in the eastern part of the state. The infrastructure is required for the company’s data center, which is being built near the Interstate 29 between Fargo and Harwood.
