(Minot, ND) — Two tribes in North Dakota are receiving two-million dollars in federal grants. The Federal Highway Administration is giving Standing Rock Sioux and Spirit Lake tribes the money for roadway and walkway improvements. The grants are part of the Tribal Transportation Program Safety Fund. The North Dakota Department of Transportation is also working to provide 20-million dollars for an extended path from Fort Totten to Devils Lake. Spirit Lake Chairwoman Lonna Street said the tribe is very grateful for the support.
