Gov. Rhoden Vetoes 2nd Bill This Session

(Pierre, SD) — For the second time this legislative session, Governor Larry Rhoden is implementing his veto powers. The bill would have required non-medical home care agencies to get licensing and provide proof of training. Sponsors of the bill say without the documentation, residents are more vulnerable to abuse and malpractice. Rhoden says he supports the idea of the bill but worries that it mandates too much government regulation. His first veto of the year was for a bill to ban cell-cultivated-protein food from being sold in the state and it was later amended to a five-year moratorium
