(McKenzie County, ND) — A custom home builder is facing fraud charges in McKenzie County. Michael Dolbec, owner of Windsong Custom Homes, is being accused of abandoning a house project near Arnegard after accepting a 129-thousand dollar down payment. Dolbec did not use the money toward the project but filed for bankruptcy in April of 2025. When the homeowners confronted Dolbec about where the money went, he said it went back into the business. He is pleading not guilty to charges and his trial is scheduled for July 16.
